Council has launched a new What’s On Scenic Rim website, which provides a one-stop-shop of events right across the Scenic Rim – www.whatsonscenicrim.com
The previous What’s On page on Council’s website has been made redundant, with the navigation now linking to the new site, which shows events across the region in various categories. This includes community and family, arts and culture, lifestyle and education, music and drink, sports and more.
The website automatically gathers event information from major ticketing and event websites such as Eventbrite, ATDW, Trybooking, Ticketmaster, Humanitix, Ticketek, Songkick and from social media. If your event isn’t picked up automatically through these sites, you can submit your own event listing on What’s On Scenic Rim for free.
The Submit an Event page will guide you through the listing process. As the website is a highly visual platform, you will be asked to add at least one high-resolution image for your event.
If users have a particular category or type of event they are interested in, they can sign up and save their favourite search and then receive notifications if a new event is posted in this category. We hope you enjoy using the site and that you will be able to attract more community members to your events through this platform.

In 2020-21, a total of $5 million (excluding GST) has been made available through the Community Drought Support Program grants.
The grants aim to strengthen the resilience of drought-affected Queenslanders through the delivery of:
Flexible Financial Hardship payments to alleviate hardship and cost of living pressures for individuals, households and communities impacted by the drought; and
Community events and activities that contribute to connectedness and social well-being.
Applications are invited from eligible organisations to deliver between $12,000 and $200,000 in one-off funding in the 45 fully and partially drought-declared local government areas.
Community groups, not-for-profit organisations, local councils, neighbourhood and community centres, emergency relief providers, and school P&Cs are the types of organisations that are encouraged to apply.
Organisations are encouraged to deliver the funds in ways that meet the specific needs of their communities.
Applications close 2:00pm Friday 26 February 2021

TAFE Qld South West has scheduled two of the Community Developments Programs in Boonah, delivered at no cost to eligible participants.
The eligibility for these programs is:
age – minimum age 15 years
citizenship – Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or Temporary Resident on the pathway to permanent residency
place of residence or work – must be a Queensland resident and reside or work in a drought declared council area or on an independent drought declared property

The outcome of this will create opportunities for employment and training for members of the broader community and all BDCC members are invited to these events.

The Scenic Rim Business Breakfast which will be held at the Centre Beaudesert with at starting time of 6.30am for registration for a 7.00am start. Robert Gerrish, a motivational speaker, will focus on ways to create opportunities for growth within your business with the outcome to support employment and training of new and existing workers.

We will have the Smarty grants system up so if you need help in navigating or have any questions we can walk you through. Queensland Bushfires — Round Two funding grants are now open – close 11 Feb
Scenic Rim is eligible to apply for this funding which is a non-recurrent (one-off) grant funding between:
$2,500 – $50,000 (small grant)
$50,001 – $100,000 (large grant)
Successful applicants will need to have projects aimed at driving recovery, and building awareness and resilience. Projects should preferably involve partnerships with local government, and other organisations and/or groups.
