Clydie Trail Expression of Interest
The Boonah District Chamber of Commerce is excited to support the development of the inaugural Clydie Trail 2022. Member businesses are encouraged to get behind the trail by registering their interest.
The Clydie Trail is a point-by-point adventure across the greater Boonah area, the heritage home of Clydesdales in Queensland, that showcases places to see, moments that matter, natural and built attractions and local businesses, producers, makers, growers and characters. It is a long-term engagement tactic that embeds the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular into the fabric of the region, establishes the Boonah area as the home of these gentle giants, showcases the beauty of the region, and creates revenue and attendance streams for supporters of the event.
The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular is the richest Clydesdale Show in the Southern Hemisphere, where the grand champions of the breed are judged and the history of the breed in Australia – and in the Scenic Rim – is celebrated. Over two action-packed days, a full program of Clydesdale competition takes place in the main arena at the Boonah Showground, and a program including demonstrations, performances, food experiences, harness making, blacksmithing, the Queensland Whip Cracking Championships, the World Billy Boiling Championships, wood chopping, working dog displays, Friesian Horse Troupe performances, bush poetry and more takes place.
In 2021 the event attracted 7,300 attendees, 110 onsite caravans, 12 Glampers and over 100 heavy horses.
